In keeping with the Knights of Columbus’ principles of “Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism,” the members of the Monsignor Michael J. Regan Council No. 8731 in Carrollton presented a $1,000 gift to Tanner Hospice Care earlier this month.
Under their principle of charity, the Knights believe there is no better way to experience love and compassion than by helping those in need. Each year the Knights of Columbus Monsignor Michael J. Regan Council No. 8731 hosts a golf tournament to raise funds to support local causes in the community and present their gifts each year.
For more than 18 years, the Monsignor Michael J. Regan Council No. 8731 has included Tanner Hospice Care in their support. That tradition was continued by council members Tim Wilson, past grand knight; Bill Maddox, vice-chair of the golf tournament; Jerry Mock, financial secretary; Allen Katen, chair of the golf tournament; and Tim Phillips, grand knight, when they presented their $1,000 gift to Brian Dill, Tanner Foundation executive director; Debbie Brock, director of Tanner Hospice Care; and Tim Brewer and Steve Hester, Tanner Foundation trustees.
As a non-profit organization, Tanner Hospice Care relies on donations to ensure that those facing end-of-life issues in west Georgia will receive the support services they need, with the dignity they deserve, regardless of an ability to pay.
“We are so appreciative of the Knights of Columbus Monsignor Michael J. Regan Council No. 8731 for this generous donation,” said Dill. “We count on the generosity of the community to help us provide end of life care for our patients and families. This gift will help us continue that mission, and also affirms the trust our community has in Tanner Hospice Care to deliver excellent care. On behalf of everyone at Tanner Hospice Care, we are grateful to the Knights of Columbus.”
Tanner Hospice Care is a nonprofit, in-home hospice care provider serving Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, Heard and Paulding counties. More information about the service is available at TannerHospiceCare.org.
“The Knights of Columbus value life at every stage. We’re proud to support programs to help women carry healthy pregnancies and the work of organizations like Tanner Hospice Care, which provide compassion and dignity at the end of life.” said Mock.
