The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) recently awarded a community block grant worth $558,045 to the City of Mount Zion for a water improvement project.

“I want to thank DCA and Mount Zion city officials for working together to secure this project,” said Senate Majority Leader Mike Dugan (R – Carrollton). “Acquiring funding for vital projects like water system improvements ensures that our citizens have access to a critical resource. I look forward to the completion of this project.”

The City of Mount Zion will utilize $558,045 for water system improvements in the Harrison Road target area. This project is part of the $41 million in federal assistance that will be distributed throughout 59 communities across the state. These funds are allocated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to Georgia’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which is administered by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA).
