Bowdon High School received Advanced Placement (AP) recognition from the College Board for Computer Science Female Diversity. 

“We are honored by this recognition,” said Mr. Cowart, Superintendent of Carroll County Schools. “This is the second consecutive year Bowdon earned this award and our schools continue to be committed to rigorous opportunities for all students.” 

The College Board recognizes specific institutions based on AP enrollment and assessment results. The AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award was given for attaining female student representation in AP computer science and helping to close the gender gap in computer science. Bowdon High School was one of only 639 schools to be recognized for achievement in AP Computer Science Principles this year. 

“We are proud to see the commitment and academic talent our female students have demonstrated in their study of AP Computer Science Principles,” added Ms. Zoe Evans, principal of Bowdon High School. “We believe STEM education is critical for learning and preparing our students to succeed in a 21st century workforce.”
