On Feb. 4, 2021, the Abraham Baldwin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution awarded Laura Larson, MD, the Community Service Award for her service to Tanner Health System and the community during the pandemic. Regent Stephanie Ray presented Dr. Larson with a certificate and pin in appreciation for her selfless dedication to education, awareness and policy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Larson is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases with Infectious Diseases of West Georgia, part of Tanner Medical Group, and serves as medical director of infection prevention for Tanner Health System. Dr. Larson also chairs the Carroll County Board of Health.
She earned her medical degree from the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia, and completed her internship, residency and fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville.
She, her husband Bradley Larson, MD, a board-certified medical oncologist with Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers, and their children reside in Carrollton.
The Daughters of the American Revolution is a lineage-based membership service organization for women who are directly descended from a person involved in the United States’ efforts toward independence.
