The Carrollton Kiwanis Art and Music Showcase was held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Carrollton ‘s Center for the Arts. Thanks to all the sponsors and volunteers who made the 2022 Showcase a success.The awards for the juried visual arts show were announced at 3:45 PM and the music competition began at 6:00 PM with award ceremony following the performances of seventeen contestants.
The Juried Music Competition:

Yujean Shin, Bremen High School Junior,  was awarded first place and a five hundred dollar scholarship in the juried music competition.  She played clarinet and was accompanied on piano by Terry Lowry on Sonata for Clarinet and Piano by Frances Poulenc.  In April, Yujean Shin will advance and represent Carrollton in the Georgia District Showcase in Gainesville, Georgia.

Owen Haynes, Villa Rica High School Senior, was awarded second place and a four hundred dollar scholarship in the juried music competition.  He played Fantasia for Alto Saxophone by Claude Smith and was accompanied on piano by Yoshimi Yano.

Eden Giese, Pleasant Hill Homeschool Academy Sophomore, was awarded third place and a three hundred dollar scholarship in the juried music competition.  She played Liebestraum No. 3 by Franz Liszt on piano.

Halen Harper, Villa Rica High School Senior, was awarded fourth place and a two hundred dollar scholarship in the juried music competition.  He played trumpet and was accompanied by Matthew Baltzer on Trumpet Concerto , Op. 18 by Oskar Böhme.

Natalie Johnson, Carrollton High School Senior, was awarded fifth place and a one hundred dollar scholarship in the juried music competition.  She sang “No One is Alone” by Stephen Sondheim and was accompanied by Yoshimi Yano on piano.
