Carroll County Schools announced valedictorians and salutatorians today from all five high schools and honored them at a recognition ceremony. Local Chick-fil-A owner and operator David Daniels provided the keynote address.

“These are the best and brightest graduates of Carroll County Schools, and we honor their academic success because it reflects their individual pursuit of excellence,” Superintendent Scott Cowart said. “We are proud of these students for working hard and achieving this milestone, but we know this is just the beginning for them. They are ready for the future, and we look forward to seeing their continued success.”

Valedictorians
Caroline Makinley Huggins is this year’s valedictorian from Bowdon High School. Huggins will be attending the University of Alabama and plans to major in kinesiology.


Anna Lawton Stober is this year’s valedictorian from Central High School. Stober will be attending Georgia Tech and plans to major in international affairs.


Nathan Daniel Cowart is this year’s valedictorian from Mount Zion High School. Cowart will be attending the Middle Georgia State University and plans to major in aviation.


Delaney Elizabeth Akins is this year’s valedictorian from Temple High School. Akins will be attending the University of Georgia and plans to study animal health.


Annabelle Rose Nyberg is this year’s valedictorian from Villa Rica High School. Nyberg will be attending Georgia Tech and plans to major in environmental engineering.


Salutatorians


Jacob Dennis Holloway is this year’s salutatorian from Bowdon High School. Holloway will be attending the University of West Georgia and plans to major in biology.


Sarah Elizabeth Dutton is this year’s salutatorian from Central High School. Dutton will be attending the University of Alabama and plans to major in environmental engineering.


Hunter Mason Munro is this year’s salutatorian from Mount Zion High School. Munro will be attending the University of West Georgia and plans to major in psychology.


Sarah Renea Pack is this year’s salutatorian from Temple High School. Pack will be attending the University of West Georgia and plans to major in nursing.


Deborah Miriwah Bonful is this year’s salutatorian from Villa Rica High School. Bonful will be attending the University of West Georgia and plans to major in accounting.


“In Carroll County Schools we are committed to nationally competitive students and commend these students for exceeding academically,” Assistant Superintendent of School Performance Dr. Jessica Ainsworth said. “Through Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, world languages and numerous diploma distinctions, our 2023 graduates are prepared for global engagement and we are excited as they continue their educational journey.”
