Carrollton High School Performing Arts will head to Milledgeville this weekend to compete in the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) State One Act Play Championships on Nov. 11 with its version of The Lost Boy.
The Lost Boy by Ronald Gabriel Paolillo is about James M. Barrie, who is dissatisfied with his work and life despite his success and fame as a writer. He returns to his hometown in Scotland to visit his mother, who still blames him for the long-ago death of his older brother in a skating pond. Haunted by the tragic accident and his mother’s harsh words, James slowly begins to confront his family’s tragic past with the help of an unexpected friendship and his gift for storytelling.
“I am very proud of the hard work our students have put in in preparation for the state competition,” said CHS Performing Arts Director Tommy Cox. “They are going to make a great showing this weekend.”
