Rachel Louise Ragland, age 83, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She was born February 9, 1940, in Carrollton, Georgia, the daughter of the late Dewey Walker and the late Leila Walker.
She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed bird watching, fishing, short-distance traveling, and eating out. She loved her “shows” and enjoyed listening to Christian and Country music. She was a member of the Church of God in Carrollton, Georgia but had not been in attendance for several years. She worked on and off for about fifteen years as a seamstress, but the job she most relished was a homemaker. She was a meticulous housekeeper and a great cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Ragland; a brother J.W. (Jake) Walker, a sister Martha Muse and a grandson, Coty Lee Ragland.
She leaves behind her children: Belinda Jeroszko (Mark), Randy Ragland, and Beverly Hilton (Lance); her siblings D.L. Walker and Alice Terrell (Paul); her grandchildren Robert Jeroszko (Tara), Laura Nash (Steven), Leath Burns, and Liam Burns and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home with Pastor Caryl Strange Officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00PM until the hour of service.
Internment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens with the following gentlemen servicing as pallbearers: Mark Jeroszko, Robert Jeroszko, Laura Nash, Leath Burns, Liam Burns, and Lance Hilton.
