Melanie Skipper, age 36, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born May 5, 1987, in Anniston, Alabama, the daughter of the late Mr. James Skipper and Mrs. Donna Skipper.

Melanie worked as a caregiver and had a servant’s heart. She loved sitting on the porch outside watching hummingbirds; they would sometimes even land on her finger. Melanie was a Lowell Congregational Holiness Church member and enjoyed spending time with her family. She could play piano and sing beautifully and was always willing to help anyone out without recognition. She will be genuinely missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Melanie leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Donna Skipper; grandmother, Sue Buza; brothers & sisters-in-law, Jimmy & Tiffany Vance Skipper and James & Brandi White Skipper; sisters, Penny Morgan, Jennifer White, and Amy Vance; brother-in-law, Ben Morgan; and a number of aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Smith, Pastor Brenda Smith, and Pastor Pete Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Lowell Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Hunter Bishop, Clay Morgan, Jimmy Vance Skipper, James White Skipper, Ben Morgan, Josh Floyd, Josh Maddox, and Brandon Cease.

The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Messages of condolences can be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
