William Delvis Martin Jr. age 90, of Villa Rica passed away Friday, December 15, 2023. He was born March 5, 1933 in Fayetteville to the late Mr. William Martin, Sr. and the late Mrs. Geneva Martin.
William, lovingly known as Jr., was a respected businessman, devoted father, husband, and a cherished friend to many. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication and integrity that will continue to inspire generations to come. As a young man, Jr. proudly served his country as a soldier in the army. He selflessly dedicated himself to defending the values he held dear. His service was marked by bravery and honor, characteristics that stayed with him long after his military career concluded. After returning from his duties as a soldier, Jr. embarked upon a fulfilling career as a businessman in the Villa Rica area. His dedication and hard work were evident in everything he did. Through his perseverance and commitment to excellence, he established himself as a pillar of the community.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Jr. found joy and fulfillment through his numerous hobbies and interests. Above all else, family held an irreplaceable place in Jr.’s heart. He took immense pride in being a loving father, husband, grand father and great grand father.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Margaret Martin; son, Anthony Lord; sisters, Martha Croy, Pauline Thrasher and brother, Charles Martin.
He is survived by his daughter, Liddy (Patrick) Causey of Delta, AL; sons, Tommy Martin, Robert Martin and Corey (Judy) Lord; eight grandchildren, Brent, David, Crissy, Amanda, Jake, Lindsey, Jennifer and Alex. a number of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two sisters, Roberta Satterfield and Sybil Bell.
The family will recieve friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Rev. Charles Dyer and Rev. Damon Smith officiating.
