A new year of performances at the Carrollton Center for the Arts is only just beginning, January 20 at 7:30pm with Top of the World: A Carpenters Tribute.
“The Carpenters were a huge part of the soundtrack of the ‘70s,” said Carrollton Center for the Arts Manager Tim Chapman. “We’re so excited to have Top of the World bring that group, those days and those songs from the past into the now.”
The popular brother/sister duo made up of Karen and Richard Carpenter recorded some of the most unforgettable ballads and melodic pop songs of the 1970s and early ‘80s. Their music continues to attract critical acclaim and commercial success. They have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time. This tribute band brings Carpenters’ hits like Close To You, We’ve Only Just Begun, Rainy Days and Mondays, Please Mr. Postman and Yesterday Once More to the stage while sharing some of the stories behind the music.
This show is sponsored by Pippin Music Academy.
Tickets are $35 for adults, $10 for youth 12 and younger and can be purchased online at carrolltonarts.com, by phone at 770-838-1083 or at the center’s box office at 251 Alabama Street.
