Wendy Echols Mason, age 54, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024. She was born on October 13, 1969, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of the late Joe Oliver Echols and Annie Jo Harpe Echols.
Wendy grew up in Tucker, Georgia, and completed her undergraduate studies before pursuing a master’s in Education Counseling at the University of West Georgia. Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to counseling students. In 2018, Wendy’s passion for education led her to join Carrollton High School, where she continued to make a positive impact as a counselor, mentor, and friend, inspiring and empowering students to achieve their full potential. Furthermore, she played a crucial role as a GED teacher at West Georgia Technical College, guiding and instructing students to pass the GED examination successfully. From 1994 to 1996, Wendy dedicated her time and expertise as a family resource coordinator at Carrollton City Schools, providing valuable support to students and their families. Wendy Mason will always be remembered for her positive impact on the lives of those who knew her.
Wendy found great joy in the peaceful pastime of bird watching, spending leisurely days at the beach with her beloved family, and savoring the quiet moments of the morning with a warm cup of coffee and a captivating book in hand. Her care extended to her collection of potted plants, with a special fondness for her lush ferns, and she entrusted Mike with the ongoing task of tending to them with the same dedication. At home, the sound of her worship music filled the air as she unwound, eagerly anticipating the gatherings of her Community Group at church. Above all, Wendy treasured her family, finding pure bliss in their presence, and cherishing the moments when her children surrounded her.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Mike Mason; children, Abbey Mason, Mallory Mason, and Will Mason; sister & brother-in-law, Sharon & David Hull.
In addition to her parents, Wendy was preceded in death by her brother, Joe “Joey” Oliver Echols Jr.
