Katie Bearden Chandler, 45, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. She was born on February 10, 1979, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Rev. Doug Bearden and the late Gail Bass Bearden.

Katie adored spending time with her close-knit circle of family and friends. Her days were often filled with heartwarming phone conversations with loved ones, during which she caught up on the latest news and shared laughter and stories. Above all, her niece and nephews held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment spent with them, whether in person or through heartfelt conversations.

Katie had been a cherished and devoted member of Central Baptist Church for many years. She found immense joy in piano playing during church services and events, using her musical talents to uplift and inspire the congregation. However, as her health started to decline, she had to step back from her cherished role as the church pianist. Despite this, her dedication to the church never wavered, and she continued to actively participate in various other church activities and support her fellow church members.

In addition to her father, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, John “Buck” Chandler; step-mother, Benita Bearden; brother, Bruce Bearden; nephews, Alex Bearden and Jack Bearden; and niece, Paisley Bearden.

A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Katie’s life on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Rev. Alan Carr officiating. Music will be rendered by Mrs. Rene Hill. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday at 1:00 PM.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
