John Alfred Blair Jr., 60, of Whitesburg, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024. He was born on February 18, 1964, the son of Geraldine Thompson Blair and the late John Alfred Blair Sr.
John was the proud owner and operator of J&M Transport, a reputable transportation company known for its reliability and exceptional service. Beyond his professional endeavors, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His warm and caring nature left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He loved dirt track racing and spending time on his porch with all his friends and family. John’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who held him dear, and his memory will continue to be cherished by many.
In addition to his mother, John leaves behind to cherish his loving wife, Melissa Staneck Blair; children, William Anthony & Angela Blair, Crystal Louise Blair, Andrea Lea & Matthew Kelly, Tasha Nicole & Merlin Omar Padilla Ortiz, and Kimberly Michelle Blair & Sonny Boyce; brothers, James David Blair and Richard Dennis Neill; and 14 grandchildren.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Jo Henley and Patricia Joan Johnson.
Funeral services will be held to honor and celebrate John’s life on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Pastor Donald Arnell officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.
