Janice Sybil Brown Roark, 79, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024. She was born on December 19, 1944, in Cedartown, Georgia, the daughter of the late Lloyd Brown and Sybil Edwards Brown.
Janice was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of everyone around her. As a homemaker, she dedicated herself to creating a warm and nurturing environment for her family, where love and laughter filled every corner. Janice was a member of Tyus Baptist Church, where she found joy in her faith and built lifelong friendships within the community. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to music, with a special fondness for Elvis Presley, whose timeless songs brought her great happiness and often filled the house with nostalgic melodies. Janice’s kindness, vibrant spirit, and passion for life will always be cherished by those who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Clifford Roark; daughter, Laura Roark; son-in-law, Ronald King; granddaughter, Shelley Roark-Cates; and brother & sister-in-law, Keith & Terri Brown.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her children, Lorren Roark, Loriene & Paul Porter, and Lisa King; grandchildren, Christopher Roark, Kristina Husley, Justin Loveless, Clayton Porter, Courtney Porter, Matthew King, Jacob King, Aaron Roark, and Maranda King; ten great-grandchildren; and brother & sister-in-law, Anthony & Libby Brown.
A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Mrs. Janice’s life on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Pastor Justin Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Tyus Baptist Church Cemetery with Justin Loveless, Clayton Porter, Matthew King, Jacob King, Aaron Roark, and Darren Brown serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
