Betty Jane Jiles, age 87, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Born on August 9, 1937, in Carrollton, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Barney Lee Robinson and Vida Adell Kelley Robinson.

Mrs. Betty retired from Carroll County Schools in 2002 after working in Food Services for 18 years. She touched the lives of so many children at Central Middle School and enjoyed the smiles on their faces as she served each one of them. Her heart was one of service and she passed that onto her children and grandchildren. Betty was a loving wife, doting mother, sweet grandmother, helpful sister, caring daughter, and cherished friend. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Steve Jiles; brother, Bobby Lee Robinson and sister, Barnell Wilson. 

She leaves behind a loving family that includes her loving husband, Hulett Jiles; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Robin Jiles, Danny and Teresa Jiles, Jeff and Christi Jiles, and Steve’s widow Tonya Jiles; her sister, Vickie Terrell; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; along with many friends and extended family members.

A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Betty’s life on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Pastor Murphy Hagen officiating. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens following the service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 6, 2025 from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.
