James Andrew “Andy” Campbell

James Andrew “Andy” Campbell, age 77, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025. He was born on September 5, 1947, in Rome, Georgia, the son of the late Elmer Campbell and Alma Combs Campbell.

Andy was a 1965 graduate of Villa Rica High School. He dedicated 37 years of his career to Winn-Dixie, working in frozen food management, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and friendly nature. For the past 45 years, Andy has been a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was active in the Mike Dunn Sunday School Class, sang in the church choir, and found joy in worship and fellowship with his church family.

Andy had a love for reading, and a well-known sweet tooth could never resist a good dessert. Above all, he cherished time with his family and friends, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathryn Smith Campbell; his children, Jenny Sambuco and Matt Campbell; and his beloved grandchildren, Sarah Sambuco, Carson Sambuco, and Winston Campbell.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Andy’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Tabernacle Baptist Church, with Dr. Stephen Allen and Rev. Mary Lou Grimmett officiating. Mark Witham and Brenda Sue Holcombe will provide special music. The Mike Dunn Sunday School Class and the Tabernacle Choir will be seated as honorary pallbearers.

A private interment service will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Andy’s memory to Tabernacle Baptist Church.
