Georgia Farm Bureau coordinates outreach programs to support Georgia farmers and help consumers find a deeper connection to their local agriculture industry. These programs have a statewide impact through the grassroots activation of employees and volunteers found in every county in the state.
Here are just a few:
Ag in the Classroom Program
The purpose of the Agriculture in the Classroom program is to increase agricultural literacy among children and the general public. It provides tools for more effective teaching about agriculture and its role in an interdependent society, and to assist Georgia’s educators in implementing the instruction of agriculture-related concepts in the classroom. This mission is achieved through the activities of county Farm Bureau volunteers in their local communities and through teacher training courses held throughout the state.

Georgia Farm Bureau has certified a network of markets across the state that provide consumers the freshest, locally grown products available. The Certified Farm Market program connects you, the consumer, directly with agriculture and the people that make it possible. When you visit one of these markets and engage with a local farmer, it’s a special opportunity to learn when, where and how your food is produced. With so many markets in the program, there’s sure to be one close to you. Not sure where to start? Let the Farm Passport be your guide!
