Ronald “Ronnie” George Dishman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald “Ronnie” George Dishman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Ronnie was born on January 4, 1948, in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee, and he peacefully left this world on January 10, 2026, at the age of 78.

A dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT), he devoted his career to serving others in the healthcare field at Tanner Medical Center. His compassionate nature extended far beyond his profession. As a devoted member of the Bowdon First Methodist Church, he found joy and fulfillment in singing with the church choir and participating in the Walk to Emmaus, where he shared his faith and love with many.

Ronnie’s greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren: Jackson Dishman, 1st Lt. Clay Dishman, Caleb Smith, Allie Dishman, Aubrey Dishman, and Avery Dishman. He cherished every moment he was able to share with them, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, love, and the sounds of gospel music, which brought him great comfort and joy.

A loving husband, Ronnie is survived by his wife, Judy Caldwell Dishman; his sons and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Alison Dishman, and Gregory Dishman; and his sisters and brother-in-law, Margaret Wilson and Barbara and Marvin Campbell. His legacy will continue to shine through his family and the many lives he touched.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Dishman; his mother, Roxie Patton Dishman; and his brother, John R. Dishman.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Ronnie’s life and legacy at his funeral services, which will be held at Bowdon First Methodist Church on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Randy Simpkins and Rev. Lauren Helveston officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

In this time of reflection, let us honor Ronnie by remembering the joy he brought into our lives and the unwavering love he shared so freely. May his spirit continue to inspire us to serve others with kindness and compassion, just as he did.
