Larry Gene Muse, 77, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025. He was born on July 31, 1947, in Carrollton, Georgia, to Doris Driver Muse and the late U.W. Muse.
Larry worked as a supervisor at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for twenty years. He found joy in antique cars and trucks, cherished time with his family, and enthusiastically supported his grandchildren in all their pursuits. At heart, he was a fisherman and loved any chance to go to the lake or enjoy fishing with his family.
Larry was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Billy Muse.
He is survived by his mother, Doris Muse; his loving wife, Margaret Adams Muse; his daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Tony Kemp, Brandi and Chris Wigginton, and Kristie and Trey Staples; his son, Michael Muse; his sisters, Patricia Hogan and Kathy Steed; his brothers, Bobby Muse, Danny Muse, Jimmy Muse, and Jerry Muse; as well as his grandchildren, Chris North, Jack Kemp, Johnathon North, Jordan Greenwell, Blake Wigginton, Connor Wigginton, Christian Staples, and Preston Staples; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Larry’s life will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 2:30 PM at the Carrollton City Cemetery, with Pastor Kelly Runels officiating. Pallbearers will include Connor Wigginton, Chris North, Johnathon North, Michael Harris, and Preston Staples. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Wigginton, Tony Kemp, Jerry Stanford, and Trey Staples.
