Abby Elaine Dickinson

Abby Elaine Dickinson, 37, of Marietta, Georgia, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on September 22, 2025. Born on April 2, 1988, in Atlanta, Georgia, Abby was the cherished daughter of Douglas “Doug” Dickinson and Kelly Whitworth Dickinson.

Abby lived a life marked by compassion, faith, and a deep love for people. After graduating high school, she participated in the Gap Year Program at Impact 360 Institute, where her faith and leadership skills grew and flourished. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Georgia and later her Master’s in Licensed Clinical Social Work from Valdosta State University. Abby was dedicated to her calling as a social worker, and for the last four years, she faithfully served at Skyland Trail, where she touched countless lives with her empathy, wisdom, and heart for helping others.

Those who knew Abby will remember her as a devoted daughter, a loyal sister, and a beloved friend. She was known for her warm smile, quick wit, and the way she made every person she met feel seen and valued. Whether she was spending time with family, laughing with friends, or pouring into the lives of those she counseled, Abby’s presence made the world a kinder, brighter place.

In addition to her parents, Abby is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Kristine & Nathaniel Rutherford and Sintija Sparks; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Wesley & Brittany Dickinson, Tyler & Destiny Dickinson, and Kristaps & Allison Dickinson; 13 precious nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Abby; and her two most loyal companions, her dogs, Rue and Marvin. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dean & Peggy Whitworth, and paternal grandparents, Charles & Alice Dickinson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home. 

A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Abby’s life on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 12:00 PM from WestHills Church, with Pastor Tyler Brown officiating. Interment will follow at West Georgia Memorial Park.
