Emma Jo Beason Turner, age 74, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018.

Mrs. Turner was born in Heflin, Alabama on October 4, 1943, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Beason and Frances Julian Jacks Beason. She was a pre-school teacher at Central Christian Academy, North Point Christian Academy, and was a teacher’s assistant at Central Primary. She was a homemaker, loved working with children, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved each of them the same. She also loved tending to her rose bushes, was a member at Sandy Flat Baptist Church and attended Central Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Tanner Medical Center and Tanner Hospice for the compassionate and loving care they provided.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years of marriage, J. D. Turner; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Darrell (Ellie W.) Turner of Whitesburg, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie T. (Blake, Sr.) Craft of Conyers, GA, daughter, Deloris Jane Jones of Carrollton, GA, and son and daughter-in-law, Landon Scott (Heather LeeAnne) Turner of Milo, Maine; and honorary daughter, Tina Turner of Carrollton, GA; grandchildren, Emily, Brittany, Blake Jr., Josh, Katie, Brooke, Savannah, LeighAnne, and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Harmony, Leah, Autumn, Adam and Greyson; sister, Shirley Jean Knowles (Delane) of Five Points, AL., and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Linda Joyce Peoples and brother, Jerry Wayne Beason.

The family will receive friends on Sunday at Almon Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Funeral service will be held Monday, February 19, 2018 at 3 p.m. (2 p.m. CST ) at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 7098 Hwy 9, Heflin, AL 36264 with Rev. Brian Smith and Rev. Olen Wiggins officiating. She will lay in state 30 minutes prior to service.

Pallbearers will be Josh Turner, Katie Turner, Brooke Craft, Blake Craft Jr., Andrew Taylor and Nathan Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Savannah Taylor, Emily Githens and Brittany Carden.

Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
