Mrs. Margie W. Tucker, 86, of Carrollton, Georgia went home to be with her eternal Lord and Savior on October 19, 2018 after a courageous fight with Alzheimer’s. She was born in the Mt. Zion community on June 7, 1932, daughter of Fred and Velma Williamson and spent her entire life in Carroll County.
Her early years were spent on her small family farm in Carroll County where she was active with her family in Beulah Baptist Church and she graduated Mt. Zion High School in 1949 and then attended business trade school learning to be a bookkeeper. After graduating from business school, she spent 17 years as a lead bookkeeper for The Hubbard Slacks Company in Bremen, Georgia. Her remaining years were spent as a homemaker, faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to countless people in the community.
Margie met the love of her life, Bob Tucker in 1951 and they were married with God’s blessing on July 4, 1952 and shared all of life’s blessings for 66 plus years. They joined Tabernacle Baptist Church in 1956, and Margie rarely missed a Sunday School or Church service until her illness prevented it. She served on numerous committees and participated in many events throughout her years attending the church.
Survivors include her husband and soul mate of 66 years, Bob Tucker; daughter, Sandy Wolcott of Melbourne Fla., Son, Tim and Debbie Tucker of Carrollton, Brother, Maurice and Becky Williamson of Grenada Mississippi, Sister, Janice W. Bailey of Lake Guntersville Al.; grandchildren, Kristen Alexander, Chad Wolcott (Jennifer), Taylor Anne Tucker, Trevor Newsome, Tyler Newsome; great grandchildren, Abigail Alexander, Mallory Wolcott; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Clessie W Denney, Irene W Traylor; a brother Merlin Williamson.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 22, 2018 at 2 P. M. at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Pastor Stephen Allen officiating and Mr. Tim Tucker giving the eulogy. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 12 noon until the funeral hour.
Pallbearers will be David Alexander, Kenneth Cooke, Carl Cooke, Jim Reynolds, Griffin Reynolds, and Trevor Newsome. The Faithful Friendship Sunday School Class and Ted Robinson Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.
