George Martin Bradley III, age 59 of Whitesburg passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 20, 1959 in Wilmington, Delaware son of the late George Martin Bradley Jr. and Alice Demuth Bradley.

He was a 1978 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, following high school he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. George worked as a maintenance mechanic with Emory University Hospital where he enjoyed a 23 year career. He enjoyed a strong love of music especially the Grateful Dead and most days could be seen wearing his favorite color “Tie Dye”. George also enjoyed a love of motorcycles and before his health prevented it attended Southern Hills Christian Church.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Catherine Brown.

Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years Lisa Pettit Bradley, daughters; Rita Graydon (Chris), Miranda Bradley, Samantha Meeks (Brandon), grandchildren; Braydon Meeks and Maci Meeks, also surviving are 3 siblings.    

In accordance with his wishes, the body has been cremated.

A service celebrating George’s life will be conducted Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 4:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Mr. Duncan Powell leading the service. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM and from 3:00 PM until the service time. Those who are able to attend are encouraged to wear “Tie Dye” or your favorite bright color to help create a feeling of true celebration of George’s life and legacy.
