Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. § 21-2-540, a special election shall be held in Carroll County to fill the vacancy in the office of Chairman, Board of Commissioners, caused by the resignation of the Honorable Marty Smith.  The special election will be held on June 18, 2019.

Qualifying for the special election shall be held at Carroll County Election & Registration Office, 423 College Street, Carrollton, GA, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Wednesday, April 24, 2019, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Thursday, April 25, 2019 and 8:00 am – 12:00 pm Friday, April 26, 2019.  The qualifying fee shall be $2,725.00.

All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the special election may register to vote through the close of business on May 20, 2019.  Early voting will be held May 28, 2019 – June 14, 2019, (Monday – Friday), 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.  All precinct polling locations will be open from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm on Election Day.

Should a run-off election be required, such run-off will be held on July 16, 2019.
