Jerome Joiner, age 48 of Carrollton, passed away May 11, 2019 at Tanner Medical Center. He was born October 22, 1970 in Peoria, Illinois, son of Larry Joiner and the late, Josette Simone Colrat Joiner.

Jerome was a Woodland High School graduate and attended Devry Institute of Technology, West Georgia Technical College and the University of West Georgia, where he received numerous associate degrees and certificates. Upon moving to Carrollton, Georgia Jerome went back to work for Southwire where he worked as a plant supervisor. He made a career change in 2003 where he took a job at Georgia Power. Jerome had a passion for photography and travel, and knew how to appreciate life’s causal beauty. He was an active volunteer with the THS Emergency Shelter.

He is preceded in death by his mother; and a brother, Douglas Reavely.

He is survived by his father, Larry Joiner of Woodland, Alabama; son, Patrick Craig Joiner (Latisha) of Augusta, Georgia; son, Trey Joiner of Minneapolis, Minnesota; daughter, Alexandra Simone Joiner (Frankie Martin) of Villa Rica, Georgia; sisters, Andre Mason and Beatrice Ahkras; one grandson to be born in August; and special friends, Vicki and Mike McCorsley.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday, May 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Joy Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Woodland, Alabama.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Calvin Graham, David Lassiter, Josh McCorsley, Jon McCorsley, Curtis Spindell, and Chad Wilson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be volunteers and guests of the THS Emergency Shelter.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
