A perfect Friday night for football (Carrollton beat region rival Rome 24-20 in a nail-biting thriller of a game) was enhanced by the presence of a much larger than usual Carrollton High School Trojan Band when members of the Carrollton Junior High School eighth grade band joined their upperclassmen for the yearly 8th Grade Night.

Eighty-seven CJHS musicians boosted the overall band number close to 300, filling the CHS amphitheater to capacity in pre-game entertainment.

The junior band members also participated on the field performing just before the kickoff and helped rally fans in the stands with the traditional game favorites.

CHS Band Director Chris Carr said he is excited about the future of the band since only about two dozen band seniors will be graduating this year and expects a large percentage of the eighth graders to come on board next fall.
