The Friends of the Whitesburg Public Library bookstore, Harvey’s House of Books, will offer a Bag of Books sale on Saturday, September 28, in observance of the McIntosh Reserve Fall Festival. Customers may fill a brown paper bag with regular adult fiction and nonfiction hardback books for $10. Bags will be provided by the store.
The store at 1140 Main Street in Whitesburg will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is a collection of 20,000 books, movies, music and magazines. All sales benefit the Whitesburg Public Library. Paperback books, giftable, like-new books for $3, children’s books and DVDs and CDs are excluded from the sale. However, DVDs are on sale that day for $1.
The store is open Mondays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays 10 a.m. to noon and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Frugal Fridays feature half-price books every week. Call 470-345-9397 for information.
The McIntosh Reserve Fall Festival features Native American program, arts and crafts and food at the McIntosh Reserve Park on West Highway 5 in Whitesburg on September 28 and 29.Â
