CARROLLTON, GA – The Air Force JROTC at Carrollton High School will hold its annual veterans recognition program on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11. This tradition has been a part of the JROTC program since its inception at CHS in 2006.
In preparation for the observance, the JROTC cadets encouraged Carrollton City Schools families to participate by registering their veteran family members to be included in the six recognition events held that day.
Major David Conley, head JROTC instructor, said the schedule will be as follows:
8:30-9:50 – Carrollton Elementary School (two back-to-back sessions)
10:10-11:00 and 2:15-3:15 – Carrollton High School
12:00-12:50 – Carrollton Upper Elementary School
1:10-2:00 – Carrollton Junior High School
In addition to organizing the veterans recognitions, the cadets will showcase their drill team, choral groups will perform and the CJHS band will play patriotic music during each event.
“This has been a well-received tradition for more than a decade,” said Dr. Mark Albertus, superintendent. “Our families really appreciate the efforts of the cadets and enjoy attending the ceremonies to see their loved ones honored.”
