Carrie and Justin Ward’s newborn daughter is Villa Rica’s first baby of the decade! Their daughter, Carrie Renee, was delivered at 11:21 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, in the maternity center at Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica.
Baby Carrie came a week earlier than expected, weighing 7 pounds, 5.4 ounces. She was 18.5 inches in length. Baby Carrie is the couple’s fifth child — all girls — following big sisters Caydence, 10, Alison, 9, Vallory, almost 3, and Sarah Michelle, 2. The couple recently moved to Villa Rica from Waco. Being experienced with childbirth, the couple knew Mom Carrie’s labor — which began around 3 a.m. New Year’s Day — was the real deal and headed to the hospital.
Baby Carrie was breach, so Mom Carrie delivered her by C-section — a first for the mom of five. The delivery went well and both are doing great. The nurses at Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica presented the couple with a special gift basket to celebrate the hospital’s first baby of the 2020s.
